Zoom ahead with E-Max Electric Scooter

emax

Germany-based, Chinese-manufactured electric scooter makes a stunning comeback with a brand new design and power options. Dubbed the Emax, this battery operated scooter has a range of around 60 miles when you are travelling at its restricted top speed of 30mph. Though, the top speed restriction might not lure the speed fans towards the scooter, yet the scooters ability to take you a mile in just 1p will surely make some heads turn. The scooter also has a LCD and analog dashboard display to make riding a bit more fun. The system incorporates four 12V/60AH silicone lead acid power packs – and Emax says these can be completely recharged within three hours.

The Emax is classed as a moped – so drivers who passed their test before February 2001 can ride it on their car license. A workshop was also organized to familiarize the dozen or so US and Canadian dealers with the new models and help them resolve some of the more common owner problems, including how to swap plastic panels — changing the color of the vehicle in less than an hour’s time — how to unlock the under-seat helmet storage bin when the owner locks the key inside (it’s happened), and how to diagnose battery problems. A dealer needs only three tools: a Phillips screwdriver and an 8 and 10 mm socket wrench, plus a multimeter to testing the batteries.

Thomas Gruebel, the company founder and president of GGC in Munich, the parent of Emax , proudly announced that not a single one of the Chinese-made, 12-volt batteries (there are two banks of four or eight per machine) have had to be replaced among the 3000 sold worldwide in the last one year. This probably owes to the fact that each set of batteries are tested and sorted into two voltage-balanced groups of four to make sure each pack performs to its optimum.
