Yummy Cornish pasties to fuel vehicles now!

cornishpasty

Your delicious cornish pasties will soon fuel your car! Scientists at a green fuel firm, Greenenergy, have devised a method to turn cornish pasties into biodiesel. The company, Greenergy is working in coordination with Brocklesby Ltd. that has devised a way to extract oil from food waste. The company will extract oil in pasties, pies, crisps and similar fast food delicacies to mix with diesel, and the outcome, i.e. biodiesel will be sold at petrol stations across UK shortly. This way, the extra oil that would have gone to waste landfill will be put to use, hence saving not only diesel but reducing waste as well.

The company, Greenenergy has invested a whopping, £50 million in its production facility in Immingham, Lincolnshire. This plant will be able to process used oils that are expected to account up to 30 percent of some processed fast foods. The company produces 10 billion liters of biodiesel and diesel annually.

The food solids produce energy too, by decomposition through anaerobic digestion, but the company aims to convert these solid wastes into bioethanol so as to get more biofuel. Anyway, in these times of energy crisis, we can safely and rather only base our future on renewable sources of energy. Using renewable sources of energy leads to environment preservation as well.
