There are not many across the planet who can even see the potential of an object that is buried deep in a pile of trash and far fewer man actually end up making something useful out of a couple of stuff that were considered useless. But they are the chosen few who can turn the whole pile of trash in to something that will make the world stand up and take notice. For someone who is now almost accustomed to seeing stuff like that on a regular basis, like I have been for the past few months, it is hard to get surprised. Yet there comes an odd moment once in a while when you truly are pleasantly surprised and marvel at what the brilliant minds have come up with. This is just a small collection of that and maybe just one tiny part of it.
HA Schult’s haunting ‘trash people’ have graced the streets of many of the world’s most major cities and they are standing sculptures that are silently open to interpretation as they travel the world and sit everywhere from the parks of New York City to the Great Wall of China. It took Schult 6 months and 30 assistants to create these strange sculptures from crushed cans, computer parts and virtually anything else he could appropriate to assemble them. This probably is the trash army that is reminding us that we waste a lot more than we should and if we do not stop doing that then there will be nothing left but just that on the planet.
The interpretation of the mighty army of trash can vary with your perspective and it does too. It is one of those moments when art becomes personal for each and every individual. There are several others who have created great works of art from trash like Schult and here is just a collection of 7 of them. If you wish to know who the remaining 6 are and what amazing stuff they created, then just Click Here. From coke cans to Jet parts, you will find everything and will not be disappointed at all. Have fun!
