This utterly convenient conception by Virginia-based Plugless Power was recently unveiled at the Google’s headquarters over at Silicon Valley’s Mountain View. Instead of a cord and an electrical outlet, this station uniquely features a sort of charging pad. The vehicle to be charged is just to be parked over this electric ‘patch’.

The system uses the technique of inductive charging, which by the way is a pretty old and common method of charging, but is utilized elsewhere like charging of phones and small electric gadgets. Basically, in this system, when the car integrated with an built-in adapter moves over the pad, the inductive charging allows the current to flow from the station into the adapter, like the working principle of an electric transformer that uses an electromagnetic field to transfer energy.

So, without the paraphernalia of cords and outlets, this system certainly makes it easy for electric vehicles to be charged without issues. From the company’s perspective, they are sure about the wireless charging station’s eminence in the coming years, even though there was no substantial clarification about the system’s cost and availability.
