Mackie’s of Scotland has now gone eco-friendly producing ice creams with renewable energy! Yes, along with using fresh milk and cream to make the healthy, hygienic ice cream, Mackie’s have also installed a single Vestas V52 wind turbine, aiming to become Britain’s greenest company by producing more energy than they consume.

It is before, the wind turbine has been providing 65% of the electricity required to make the ice creams. And now, with this installation, they have decided to add a declaration to their tubs: ‘made with renewable power’.

To make it clear to consumers that this ice cream is made with Mackie’s own renewable energy, they are now holding a design competition, where one can win 25 tubs of Mackie’s wind-powered ice cream! Yummy! But, those ice creams are to be given to the person designing the winning logo.
