Eco Factor: Lightweight foldable bike powered by lithium-ion battery.
What in your opinion is the greenest way of transport? Of course, the bicycle! But storing them when not on the go can be a problem sometimes. Offering a brilliant solution to this problem is the VeloMini, a lightweight electric bike that folds for convenient storage. Powered by a 24v, 6AH lithium-ion battery, the bike can be folded and fitted into a carrying case nearly the same size as a guitar case.
The VeloMini sports features like an anodized aluminum frame and a 180 watt brushless hub motor that will transport a person from eight to 10 miles at speeds of up to 12 mph. Weighing a mere 14kgs, this green bike gives riders three riding modes – standard pedal power, using the throttle like a moped and pedal assist mode. These can be selected via a control on the handlebars.
Capable of carrying a weight of 95kgs, the VeloMini is priced at $995. It comes with a case, strap, toolkit and charger. Those of you who cannot afford that price can pick up its non-electric version called the VeloMini Lite, which comes with case, strap and toolkit for just $499.
