Vegetable-based fuel can be a gas for trucks

garbage truck

Here is a garbage truck fleeting Hammond neighborhoods that catapults itself to the list of green vehicles. Yes, these are no ordinary ones. It is powered by 100 percent vegetable-based fuel, and not diesel fuel. The fuel is made from crops like those grown in Indiana. It not only leads to environment friendliness, but also economic independence, as they now have to rely less on others for fuel to run the states’ trucks.

As the Hammond pilot program comes out successful, Hammond officials, Congressman Peter Visclosky and local environmentalists joined Naturally Renewable Group (NRG) to mark it. It has successfully powered the city vehicles with ESTERHOL(tm) — the 100 percent vegetable-based fuel.
