Eco Factor: Coulomb technologies to install electric vehicle charging stations
Going green with an electric car isn’t easy, especially for someone hailing from Los Angeles which is drowned in a culture of speed and power. These are the aspects where most of the electric vehicles unfortunately take a sound beating since their batteries peter out fast and quick. To make electric vehicles a popular choice on the American west coast, Coulomb Technologies would be installing a third of the total 4,600 electric vehicle charging stations it would be setting up within US in California alone. Over 1000 installations are scheduled to be put in by December, with the rest in place by September 2011.
The installations are a part of $37-million project called ChargePoint America, funded partly by a $15-million stimulus grant administered by the Department of Energy through the Transportation Electrification Initiative.
