Urban Flower: A collective approach to low emission mode of electric transportation

Urban Flower

The world as known today is defined by rampant urbanism on all levels. And when we visualize an urban scenario, the ubiquitous lines of congested traffic ‘fueled’ by an ever thriving automotive industry, comes to our minds. But designer Robert Hagenstrom has taken an altogether different approach, as in the world he has envisaged – automobiles have not been invented, up till now. Hence, with the present advancement of green technology, the whole domain of vehicular transportation will be based upon a low emission, sustainable system. And this is where the Urban Flower concept comes into the ‘green’ picture.

In a system where transportation and commuting facilities such as roads, traffic lights and parking lots are powered by clean energy (like solar power), naturally the vehicular component would also be driven by zero emission energy. Moreover, beyond the scope of sustainability, the Urban Flower will also touch upon the attributes of optimized user comfort. This element of user convenience will be related to safety, cost effectiveness and smoothness of commuting.

Though we are not sure about the ‘can on wheels’ style of the car itself, the designer has envisioned this specifically unique (or bizarre) bearing for that added level of user interaction. The constant degree of dynamic communication with the surrounding environment will provide an eclectic essence of commuting that banks on the virtues of novelty. And even beyond the highfalutin concepts, a collective approach to sustainability will always remain high in our ‘good book’.
