Apple adopts ‘green’ bikes for campus transport

Apple Campus Bike

Apple has strengthened its environment protection efforts by introducing the new Apple campus bike – a ‘green’ ride with no emissions. Designed by Everaldo Coelho, this bike would be an eco-friendly campus mode of transportation at One Infinite Loop, Cupertino – Apple’s headquarters. Bicycle commuting is fast becoming more popular and has various benefits attached to it like better health, no fuel expenses and most importantly no pollution.

Considering Apple’s expertise in manufacturing hi-tech products, this bike is a contrast to all that with its minimalistic and simple style. However, the bike serves its purpose very efficiently just the same way an iPad serves its customers. The outer appearance of the bike is simple and elegant and has a mix of three colors – silver-black or silver-gray. Apple bike has a mixte frame which increases the strength and rigidity of the frame. This bike has special chain guards that ensure you don’t get your trouser cuffs trapped within the chain that is concealed inside. There are panniers located at the rear end (extremely useful for the techies working at Apple) that are water proof and very apt for storing your iPad, papers or a MacBook Air. The triple speed internal hub is also very user-friendly and does not require maintenance. The wheels are strong and all the levers and brakes are metallic.

It’s great to see corporate houses adopting eco-friendly methods at work that show their commitment towards the environment conservation. The ‘green’ Apple bike is a great example of that.
