Vertical gardening and hydroponics are surely the future of farming, and we have plenty of plans and architectural concepts based on these technologies. However, designer Jack O’Reilly has thought of something that is one step ahead of these plans and a bit different too. In his Urban Farming and Media Interactive Networks (Urban [email protected].), he has integrated a TV station that will telecast shows informing about the sustainable farming practices going inside the farm. Somewhere it sounds odd, but it’s no big deal that all this info could be mixed with a cookery show.
The entire farm will run on renewable energy generated by the wind turbines, and a canal will supply water for irrigation and a well will work as the main route to the building. All the produce will either go to the markets of Manchester city or will be served in the restaurants inside the farm. The concept sounds efficient and appropriate to cope up with the future demands that require such revolutionary methods and resources.
