Eco Factor: Sculpture made using recycled materials.
Astronomers around the world are working hard to find traces of life in other parts of the universe. While there has been no success so far, there is no dearth of individuals who are trying to depict what aliens and their lives are expected to be like. RoboSteel has created a life-size Alien Queen sculpture that depicts these extraterrestrial beings as horrifying in appearance and someone who hunts to survive.
The sculpture contains over 4000 unique parts that come from discarded cars, boats, dishwashers, motorbikes, televisions and other sources of recycled steel. Weighing 550kg, the sculpture is 2.4m tall. Recycled parts have been welded together to craft the limbs and other body parts.
Costing €4500, the sculpture has been expertly polished and sharp edges have been removed. It has been coated with several layers of strong lacquer to protect it from weathering.
