UK’s largest solar energy tapping rooftop would soon be completed by Lightsource Renewable Energy and Octopus Investments. This opulent solar project would be installed at Promens Warehouse in Suffolk producing around 1.65MW of power, thus exceeding the previous record of 1.16MW. The solar installation that would cater to the energy needs of the entire warehouse has been designed by Lightsource, manufactured by Grupotec and has been financed by many investors of UK.
Danfoss has supplied 15kW inverters for this project whereas REC has provided 7000 pieces of 235Wp multicrystalline solar panels leading to modules that provide 14.2 percent efficiency, thus catering to all the power requirements of the warehouse site.Solar power is the new futuristic energy source that is not only renewable and clean but also abundant in nature. The only drawback comes in the cost-effectiveness of the same, but new developments and government subsidies will soon override that factor as well.
This solar-powered rooftop is a great way to produce clean energy and making the site self-sufficient on the power front without the need for the complicated web of distribution networks. The installation of the project is slated to be complete by August 1 this year.
