Eco Factor: Sustainable skyscraper harvests wind and solar energy.
Vienna-based architect Steven Ma along with San Liu, Xinyu Wan and Emre Icdem has proposed a highly innovative set of super slim twin towers for Taiwan that will be used to exhibit Taiwan’s past, present and its future. With a height of about 360 meters, the towers feature an observatory deck and a sky-garden at a height of 350 meters.
The plinth of the towers is formed by an intricate set of three museums, each of which configures itself around recreational areas that include a water plaza, an outdoor theater, a greenhouse and an event plaza. Four different types of hanging gardens have been integrated along the towers’ structure with high-end residences and an aviary for endangered birds.
The sustainable towers will incorporate water recycling systems to reduce water consumption. Moreover, wind turbines and photovoltaic panels placed along the sky gardens and the top of the museums will generate renewable energy for the structure.
