Eco Factor: Eco-friendly system uses sunshine to provide water, energy and hydrogen.
The Essential Element has introduced a mobile device that can provide up to 87,000 liters of water a day, create hydrogen for burning a camp-style cooking stove and generate electricity that can be used to charge cellphones and run other electronic devices. Christened the Hydra, the mobile device is mounted onboard a trailer and uses a solar array to generate all the energy it needs.
The solar array generate about 2.88KW of power, which is enough to power a 900W water pump, a self-cleaning filtration device, an electrolyzer and can also recharge lead-acid gel batteries that are capable of storing 900Ah of electricity. The hydrogen produced during the day is consumed by a fuel cell to power the pump and the water purifier after dark.
Since the system has been designed to operate in inhospitable places, it includes a self-maintaining filtration system that includes dual filtering membranes. The unit is entirely scalable and the solar generating capacity and the filtration system can be scaled up according to need.
