A navigation system to find a gas station by TeleNav is available on selected Sprint, Nextel and Boost Mobile cell phones or handhelds. But, now it offers ‘Fuel Finder’ to the existing system that would help you find the cheapest gas without needing you to drive around wasting gas exercise anymore! It is not a really effective concept to save fuel and get economic at the same time?
Hassan Wahla, the Santa Clara company’s senior director of business development said, Not only can you find a gas station, you can find the one that has the cheapest price… Pricing information comes from credit-card transactions, and it’s compiled daily.
TeleNav’s mobile navigation system can effectively guide a driver in searching not only gas stations based on location, but also on price, brand or any combination of those three.
But, there are a few limitations to TeleNav’s Fuel Finder. It covers only 70% to 80% of the United States. And it doesn’t include those gas stations that don’t accept plastic, or those that offer cheaper prices for cash purchases! It is because the information comes from credit-card purchases. But, eventually it lands up helping many if not all the citizens.
