Eco Factor: All-electric delivery trucks get up to 100 miles on a single charge.
Aside from slaking Frito-Lay’s requirement of 176 all-electric delivery trucks during the next year, the Kansas City-based Smith Electric Vehicles will send a consignment of 41 Newton electric trucks to office supply giant Staples, Inc. The trucks will reach Staples stores in Missouri, California and Ohio next month.
Exclusively designed for inner city, stop-and-go driving, Smith’s Newton electric trucks can deliver 16,000 pounds of load to its clients at a top speed of 55 miles per hour. Moreover, the trucks promise to travel 50 to 120 miles on single charge, which is quite impressive.
