Solo Lite concept EV is driven using solar energy

Solo Lite

Delicate in its bearing, effervescent in its demeanor and curvy along the soft edges – this in short is the Solo Lite concept car. Designed by Czech Lorinc Sandor, this petite electric vehicle follows along the futuristic progression of environment friendly automobiles, specifically conceived for low emission urban commute.

The statuesque yet bantam form is complemented by a large surface area of glass facades. These facades would presumably be embedded with transparent solar cells, especially along the roof. The harvesting of clean solar energy (by these photovoltaic cells) forms the basis of zero emission electricity needed for the inherent car propulsion. The designer has also thought of providing supplementary petrol driven engine that will have the ability to extend the normal range of the car. This makes the drive-train fairly independent of the condition of the sun during specific circumstances.

Coming to the user comfort, the car will have three passenger capabilities, with the seats arranged along a row. Other details are unfortunately not available to us, but according to the designer – the ‘clean and green’ car can enter into the commercial scheme of things by 2012 for a Hungarian company named Antro Ltd.
