Solar-Powered Hearing Aid

solar powered hearing aid

People dependent on hearing aid, need not worry any more with its decreasing battery charge, or buying a new one. Just buy it once and charge it for free using solar energy. Named SolarAid, the hearing aid is designed and built by Godisa Technologies, a Botswana company. But, it is not available at a high price. The hearing aid is available at a low-cost aimed to market especially to the developing world. It’s simple. The SolarAid system combines a small hearing aid and a lightweight solar charger. Godisa developed the first No. 13 rechargeable button battery — made especially for the system.

Africa’s only hearing aid manufacturer, Godisa is the only one in the world that makes hearing aids specifically for the sub-Saharan Africa environment. Including the solar charger and an extra pair of batteries, the SolarAid sells for less than $100. It is built to last at least two to three years.
