Now your cell phone will be powered by the sun soon. Germany’s Fraunhofer Institute researchers are working on a cell phone that is solar powered. To make the device they are using solar cells that are both device-integrated and highly efficient, offering a module efficiency rate of 20%.
This efficiency allows the cell phone to remain powered up continuously, as long as it receives sufficient sunlight, which is about 2 hours per day. Don’t worry. It can otherwise be charged in the conventional way too. An alliance of more than 50 research institutions, Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft pools their research and collaborates on innovative technology. Most of these institutes are from Germany.
