Power-Pipe: Device to recover heat from drain water

the power pipe

Here is an innovative device that is capable of recycling heat from warm water. This heat produced in warm water is otherwise lost down the drain. Thanks to Gerald Van Decker and his innovative and amazing Power-Pipe, which if attached to current plumbing systems in residential, institutional, industrial and commercial settings, can not only save customers’ cost, but also reduce environmental pressures.

Decker’s drain water heat-recovery device has been developed at Waterloo-based company, RenewABILITY Energy Inc. The Power-Pipe is patent-pending, and is made of copper, working efficiently by transferring heat from warm drain water’s falling film on the pipe’s inner side to the cold fresh water that flows in the outer coils.

This device can help conserve energy easier for consumers.
