Solar powered bio-fuel processors reduce overall cost of production

purdue researchers develop roving biofuel refinery

Eco Factor: Bio-fuel processors reduce the cost of fuel production.

A new concept seems ready to join a long list of already existing high efficiency bio-fuel production techniques. Researchers at the Purdue University have developed a concept which could help in increasing the bio fuel production. The compact solar powered bio-fuel processors allow the conversion of biomass to a liquid fuel on the site itself thereby circumventing the need to transport all the heavy plant matter to the refineries. The raw liquid fuel is then transported to a refinery for further processing at far less cost and with a low carbon footprint.
