Eco Factor: Concept alarm clock powered by solar energy.
The recent advancements in renewable energy technology have made it possible for industrial designers to think of devices that can be powered sustainably by harvesting clean energy from the atmosphere. This is the reason we see unique gadgets that consume solar or wind energy to power them in an eco-responsible manner. Working on the same theme, industrial designer Kubík Petr has come up with a concept alarm clock that mimics the earth in more than one way.
Like all the natural systems on the planet rely on natural sources for energy, this alarm clock too relies solely on solar energy. The “Alarm Clock” also has a protective silicon layer under which it has solar cells, an OLED display and other electronic components. The clock can be placed outdoors for harvesting solar energy, which is converted into usable electricity and stored in an onboard battery.
