Technology is on a hunt for even the tiniest possible problems man might be facing and is amazingly prompt to solve it. One such product is the Solar Key Hole Light. What surprises me is that somebody actually thought up this concept. I didn’t even realize the problem it is meant to solve was a problem at all!
It can be attached with adhesive pads (included) or screwed on your door right above the keyhole. The Solar key hole light switches on when you push the top of the unit, illuminating the keyhole, door handle and the immediate surroundings. The good thing is that the LED light it is fitted with powered by an integral low-light-level solar panel to constantly recharge the long-life lithium rechargeable battery. It also has the ‘sense’ to switch itself of after every 10 seconds and thus is not at all ‘energy-greedy’. Once recharged, the unit can be switched on as many as 720 times.
Includes three interchangeable covers (white, brass, and chrome finish). So choose the one that goes best with your door color. The thing is cute and handy no doubt, being 2″W x 1″D x 2″H. It might save you fidgeting with your keys in the dark when you come home at midnight or go out to check on your barn, garage or greenhouse. But if you ask me, I am not sure if I’d actually invest in it. I would probably prefer sticking to my good old torch. Yeah, so that involves a little hassle, holding the torch in one hand while trying on the key with the other. But I would happily live with it.
