Eco Factor: Portable solar charger harnesses solar energy using solar panels.
The “Solar Beetle” is a portable solar charger for the nature lovers to recharge their gadgets like cell phones, iPod, mp3 players, PDAs etc. Designed by Korean designers Bora Kim, Kimhyelyn and Park Jong Duck, this innovative charger incorporates solar panels that harness solar energy to power electronic devices.
This beetle shaped solar charger has solar panels on the top. As it starts to juice up solar energy one of its wings comes out and when it is completely charged, it spreads both its wings as if it is ready to take off. It is one of the shortlisted entries from more than 4000 participants in the ‘iida awards 2010’ competition.
