As the name suggests, the bicycle can be cleverly folded inside its rear wheel. This foldable bike can be easily carried from one place to the other. It will prove to be a boon for people who live in small flats and always run short of extra space. Unlike other foldable options, Smartie will look like a suitcase on wheels and will come with additional cover or case.
The chain has been replaced with a drive belt, which will keep your clothes clean while carrying the bike. It has been wedged with a low cross bar that will make sure that even elderly can ride on it. Though, it looks like a regular foldable option apparently, but the real magic lies in the ring frame placed at the back. The frame allows the front portion and seat to turn around its perimeter.
The frame comes sandwiched between two shells crafted from carbon fiber. One of the shells has been fitted with a tyre and can rotate. A toothed ring is present on the inside of its perimeter, which is coupled with a component present on the crossbar. The component unfastens from the ring when the crossover twirls towards the inside while folding the bike. On the other hand, the second shell is fixed and is immovable. Smartie Bike will also come fitted with hubgear, brake levers, mudguards, lights and latches. Though the environmentally friendly bike is still a soft prototype, but the designer promises to cause ripples when it will hit the market.
