What would you do if you had $7 million to spare? If you are Lord Northumberland of Scotland you get a gigantic treehouse made in the forest on your estate. Located around 95 miles south of Edinburgh, the 6,000 sq. ft. treehouse is apparently the largest ever built and is situated 56 ft. above the ground. Situated on the grounds of the stunning Alnwick Gardens, the fairytale treehouse is connected with 4,000-square-feet of suspended walkways and features a 120-seat restaurant as well as wobble bridges, classrooms for kids, and turrets. The official website claims that the whole things is made from sustainably harvested Canadian Cedar, Scandinavian Redwood and English and Scots pine which only adds to the magical charm of the lovely treehouse. The treehouse was completed in 2005 with an estimated $7 million having been spent on its construction. What’s even more amazing is that that a new addition already in the works for the treehouse will boost accommodation capacity of the hanging hotel upto 1,000 people who will also be treated to a ‘play area with a maze of rope bridges, platforms and aerial walkways with wheelchair access.’ The good thing for us lesser blessed mortals is that we can rent the treehouse restaurants if we take out a second mortgage on our family home and sell both our cars.
