Samsung will build an energy complex in Saemangeum, South Korea, for exploring newer ways of creating renewable energy by utilizing wind power and solar power. Samsung has inked a deal with the government of South Korea that enables Samsung to construct the energy complex for producing green energy. The 11.5 square kilometer area will also have a research institute and residential facilities. But this is not going to happen now. It will take some time. We need to wait till 2021. Even then, it’s better wait than never!

Saemangeum is an estuary on South Korea’s Yellow Sea. For long this place was seeking an identity. Now it has got one, thanks to Samsung – South Korea’s and the one of the world’s biggest conglomerates. As per reports. The phased construction will start from 2021 and is planned to end in 2040.

By 2025, Samsung will build a wind power generator. More than twenty thousand people will find employment during this phase, that has a projected fund influx of seven billion US dollars. This initial phase will also be the time when solar batteries will be built. It hasn’t decided on the other phases yet.

This initiative from Samsung comes on the heels of the governments decision to turn Saemangeum into a green-area with industrial capabilities. Saemangeum is also envisaged to be an area for agricultural activities, and also a place that will house numerous research institutes.
