With the rise in global warming, we definitely need to take some measures in order to save our planet. Being energy efficient is one of the many ways in which the ecosystem can be conserved. Mexico city has taken a large step toward a greener earth. It is all set to put together an underground shopping mall, designed by KMD Architect.

This mall will also have three levels of parking area. The whole mall and parking space will extend over an area of 65 thousand square meters. The mall – situated 18 meters below a park in Santa Fe City – Center will flaunt shops and entertainment venues, whereas the park will have jogging track, trees, grass, and a performance space. This design is a superb example of efficient utility of space.

Though the mall is underground, it will still help people connect to the outside environment. One special feature is the presence of conical light wells that helps daylight to penetrate underground. As per the design, there are plans that the air temperature and quality will be maintained with the help of natural ventilation. Solar electric will also be installed onsite.
