Saab’s ethanol turbo with bio-power engine

ethanol turbo

Ethanol only has 75% of the potential energy of gasoline. Saab members realizing this drawback of ethanol found that its high octane rating of 110 works with a turbocharger.

And hence, the BioPower engine is created. It is the first ethanol turbo. This engine runs with both gasoline and ethanol. Though it gets only 148 horsepower when it runs on gasoline, it gets up to 184 horsepower when run on ethanol.

True, it is not easy to buy this car as it costs $35,000! But, if you don’t want to compromise on or target at going green, you’ll be able to get up to 140 mph
