Nursery gets solar powered light for 20,000 100-watt bulbs

It is great to find greenery around you, and park is most recreating and refreshening arena for a hectic city lifestyle. And most park-goers love a stroll in the evening. But, that may cost huge from the electricity consumption point of view!

Peters’ nursery has been selling exotic tropical plants for years, but its soaring electricity bills were matters of concern. Summers Solar Systems has started solving this problem since last week. It began installing 132 electric solar panels, spreading 177-feet in length to generate power. And this in turn will not only help conserve fossil fuels, but energy and utility costs as well.

With the power the panels will generate, it would be possible to light more than 20,000 100-watt light bulbs. This installation project is three times the size of the 7,500-watt system installed three years ago at the state Capitol.
