RMJM designs eco friendly headquarters for Gazprom Group

Gazprom Group HeadquartersRMJM, facing a rough economic phase, have now reasons to rejoice. The company has been awarded the $3 billion project for designing and building the headquarters of the prestigious Gazprom Group in Lakhta, St. Petersburg. The structure will not only house the headquarters but will also have various residential, leisure and retail facilities. However, the best part about the design of the headquarters is that it will be sustainable and ecofriendly. The height of the tower would be 426 meters and the entire design of the project is very ‘fluidic’ and draws inspiration from the scenic water bodies that are contained within the vicinity, making it look divine and natural in appearance!

RMJM and Gazprom Group are working together since five years. Their first association was for a building project at Okhta district of St Petersburg and the proposed height of the structure was 396 meters tall. The building will, altogether, be highly sustainable with various feature like a double layer of outer skin that will minimize the amount of heat loss during the harsh Russian winters. Apart from this, there will also be modifications in the electrical, mechanical and plumbing mechanisms that would lead to a reduction in energy and water consumption and also a decrease in CO2 emissions. The new headquarters would truly be an inspiration for others to show responsibility towards the environment and to adopt a sustainable and green way of life!
