Eco Factor: High-performance compact car powered by electric motors.
Renault has already been working on its compact electric car, the Zoe, which is scheduled to debut in 2012. The company has now unveiled plans to build a higher performance electric version of the Zoe supermini, which could be on the roads as early as 2013. Bearing the “Gordini” tag, the vehicle is expected to use Nissan’s higher-output electric powertrain, as used in the Leaf.
The vehicle will have a power output of 134bhp with more than 200lb-ft of torque. The Zoe, on the other hand, will be equipped with a 79bhp electric powertrain that offers a torque of 164lb-ft.
