Eco Factor: Green car consumes 3 to 6 pounds of wood pellets to run for 10 miles.

If you think biomass can be used only for cooking purposes, think again. The Swedish Precer Group proudly presents a green car concept that runs on wood pellets. Dubbed the “Bioracer,” this unique vehicle promotes the company’s biomass powerplants. Appearing like a rather sporty version of an ATV, the vehicle features a 16HP electric motor that is powered by a 24- to 96-volt, 100- to 400-amp-hour battery pack.

The 900-pound off-road vehicle includes dual A-arm suspension in the front and swingarm suspension in the rear. The Sterling engine consumes 3 to 6 pounds of wood pellets to provide enough charge for 10 miles of driving, also depending on the configuration. With this adventure machine, Precer aims to significantly improve the economy and environmental aspects of present vehicles.
