Eco Factor: Concept car powered by a low-emission hybrid engine.
Peugeot has announced that the company will reveal a brand-new concept vehicle called the SR1 Roadster at the Geneva Motor Show. The vehicle, which doesn’t seem too futuristic like some of its other concept vehicles, will be powered by a 1.6-liter turbo diesel four-cylinder engine, which will be supplemented by an electric motor generating 95hp.
While the diesel engine will power the front set of wheels, the electric motor will be used to propel the rear set. The all-wheel drive hybrid vehicle will make its production debut in 2011. The SR1 features a new removable plastic roof panel and a three-seat layout.
The hybrid engine of the SR1 will churn out a combined power output of 313hp, with fuel-efficiency estimated at 57.7mpg, with an carbon emission rating of about 119g/km.
