Pedal-n-solar powered teardrop-shaped three-wheeler

mit president susan hockfield

The teardrop-shaped three-wheeler did not snatch a place in the headline just for its unique shape, but also for its responsibility towards the environment. It is pedal-powered, giving 600 miles to the gallon. Hearing of pedaling, you must be feeling lazy! Never mind. It has facilities to even pamper your driving too! And that too, in an eco-friendly way.

This human powered hybrid is also solar-run! Just plug in when at home and pop out its solar panels while parked. The panel can provide it with enough power to help it run at 50 mph for 50 miles. You need not pedal then.

This eco-friendly vehicle is displayed at the first student-led ‘vehicle design summit’ at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). The theme of the summit is to build commuter cars more efficient than anything the world has ever seen.
