Advertising is key to the promotion of each product and in the modern world, it is the advertising more than the product itself that actually sells stuff. I have recently seen some of the most amazing billboards that there could be. The first one is in Moscow where BMW has a huge billboard that has real cars stuck up to it and the second one uses shadow to show how it relies on solar energy. But this is something that is far more superior and it actually holds huge potential for the future. Advertising industry has taken the first green turn with billboards and one hopes that this is just the beginning of a long, green path.

UAE. Barco, a world leader in visualisation and display solutions, has announced the launch of its new DB-x20, the world’s first ‘green’ digital billboard, during PALME Middle East exhibition, which was being held at the Dubai International Exhibition Centre. The project was originally conceived to create not only a superior digital billboard, but a complete solution that worked in all outdoor conditions, without causing any harm to the local environment. This means that we have a finely crafted green innovation that reduces the usage of power and increases the impact of the product.

Barco’s digital billboard is environmentally friendly in several ways. The DB-x20 features the lowest power consumption in the industry through the efficient use of long-life components that produce less heat and require no Heating, Ventilation or Air Conditioning (HVAC). Added Power Factor Correction (PFC) reduces the strain on power networks, conserving energy. It has a 100,000-hour lifetime and if the technology is adopted across the world, then it could really save tons and tons of energy. Such green innovations help the planet heal faster and help us in saving loads of energy in the long term interest.
