Following closely behind the Camper Lotus that we reported yesterday, today another urban concept car has found a parking space on Ecofriend. Understanding about such green futuristic vehicles and penning their salient features makes me frown at my fuel guzzling four-wheeled beast parked in my garage. Gosh, only if I could swap it for any one of these eco-cars….today itself! Leaving my needs aside for now, lets concentrate on the single-seater NUS Urban Concept Car. 
Intending to reduce the environmental stress of fuel emissions as well as consumptions, it is jointly developed by the NUS Department of Mechanical Engineering and Design Incubation Centre. Feeding on Gas-to-Liquid fuel, this light weighted car is developed with a low rolling resistance allowing it to freewheel without consuming any fuel upon reaching a certain speed. Created for the Shell Eco-marathon Europe 2008, the futuristic form of this car breaks away from the conventional proportion of compact urban cars by having the sides extend to conceal the rear wheels resulting in a streamlined profile. Unlike the ultra compact Lotus. Also the extension of the side surfaces minimizes turbulence created from the turning wheels. However this not-so-compact yet a single-seater vehicle doesn’t seem to be so appealing 🙁
