Southern Norway hopes to get a clean-air highway. To let its dream come true, it has opened its first hydrogen filling station for motor vehicles. A joint effort called HyNor has been taken by companies, government and organizations, who are participating hoping to create a ‘Hydrogen Highway‘ between the capital, Oslo, and western Norway’s port of Stavanger.
The Hydrogen Highway is a 580 kilometer (360 mile) route, and the HyNor plans to open enough fueling stations by 2009 to allow hydrogen cell powered vehicles make routine trips.
