New safe, clean energy eco-friendly micro-reactors!

university of pittsburghMost of the conventional reactors generate energy by burning hydrogen or natural gas which is not only dirty, but also turns dangerous by mixing with air, making it inflammable, once composition and temperature gets out of control. And to add to, reactors often produce polluting byproducts.

As a solution to this, researchers have created a safer alternativemicro-reactors. These new micro-reactors don’t explode, irrespective of the gas composition or the rise in its temperature! It does not give birth to undesirable pollutants like nitrogen oxides.

Thanks to the University of Pittsburgh chemical engineering professor Goetz Veser for the innovative eco-friendly creation. It could be used to design processes that can produce safe, clean energy including storing hydrogen.
