Just do not ask me too many questions on this one as I am as perplexed and surprised about this as anyone else would be when they get to hear it. In case of conventional dishwashers, you need to wash the dishes and then allow them to dry and then you move them to their marked places in the kitchen. If you were Monica Galler, then you would find your own personal nirvana n the entire process and would love to do it. But since we are energy efficient (or lazy) we do it all in one step. That is exactly what the mural dishwasher is all about; or so it claims.
University of Montreal in Quebec student designers Marie-Christine Lacasse and Marie Claude Savard came up with this very unique idea and it is indeed pretty cool and a tad bit confusing to take a look at. This is exactly how the Mural Dishwasher works. Once your rack is full of dirty dishes, you can start the wraparound washer, which slides along the length of the rack, cleaning as it goes. Just how it manages not to drench you and everything else in the kitchen with water as it operates, isn’t exactly clear. Neither is the fact about how it is going to clean the dishes completely by just going over them like a magic carpet, is all the more surprising.
It would have been really nice to get some more details about this very special dishwasher and I’m pretty sure that we will get them as soon as they are out. I hope it does not compromise on hygiene for laziness. The design and the working of this one will be really interesting.
