Moonbike 2.0 folds to upright position and laid back cruiser style

Bicycles offer us a healthy and clean means of transport for short distances. In view of increasing pollution and high fuel costs, more people are turning to bikes. The relatively low maintenance, easy handling and non polluting ways of the humble bike are enough to command quite a fan base. This has spawned a market that offers e-bikes and folding ones among the standard types. But what’s even more ingenious is the Moonbike 2.0 designed Ardhyaska Amy. The innovative concept folds to expand or contract depending on your choice of riding position.

Moonbike 2.0 offers urban commuters a cleaner way to travel

While biking in itself is an enjoyable experience, it can get rather monotonous. With a view to getting more people on board the joy of riding bikes, Amy decided to come up with the novel concept. The cute bike can be positioned upright for serious cycling and can also be folded to a comfy cruiser bike for a laid back feel and style.

Adjustable front forks enable the Moonbike 2.0 to be manipulated according to preference. When expanded, it measures a length of 2,000mm and when compressed, falls to 1,600mm. What’s more, the bike comes in five peppy colors of blue, pink, yellow, green and purple.

Since urban areas witness congestion and pollution, most of the bikes that are manufactured tend to cater to towns and cities. They’re built for city roads and urban commuters with attributes like foldable frames and electric powered bikes. This gives them an edge over conventional cycles as they’re easier to ride, lightweight and don’t require maintenance.

Ardhyaska Amy has worked on several other projects including the Scoobike, a concept that fuses a bike and a scooter. It uses a micro generator and wires in lieu of a chain so you don’t get your hands or legs greasy. An electric transmission lets you adjust speed and driving mode for maximum convenience.
