Eco Factor: Low-emission vehicle powered by a gas/electric hybrid engine.
Auto designer Alberto Mazza is proposing a low-emission mini-car for Mercedes-Benz that will be powered by a hybrid engine. Dubbed Mini Car, the two door vehicle has space for four passengers and lowers emissions with the use of a gas/electric hybrid drivetrain. The car is equipped with a 1798cc gasoline engine generating 99hp, which is coupled with an electric motor generating about 82hp.
Together, the two engines can take the car to a top speed of about 180kph and can propel the vehicle to 100kph in just 10.4 seconds. The designer believes that along with the electric motor, the vehicle consumes about 4 liters of fuel for a 100km drive. The electric motors of the vehicle will be powered by nickel metal hydride batteries that have a rated output of 201.6V.
