That might sound a bit disrespectful to the creative genius of Michael Ulman, but in all honesty it is actually a tribute to his skill and will. The man truly creates pieces of brilliant art out of nothing but metallic crap. In fact, the man would actually make a point to let you know that there is nothing that is crap and everything on the planet can be recycled and reused. Of course, he would not shout that out but would let his works of art in automobile design convey the sublime message.
Michael used to work with his father on metal since he was a young kid and his passion for metal and automobiles made sure that he created plenty of life size models of cars and bikes with nothing but pieces of metallic waste. He actually considers this as an amazing gift and opportunity as he feels that being a found-object sculptor means that he can find his raw material anywhere such as garbage cans, dumps, land fills or any other place we would not be too keen on searching.
This really gets across the message of reduce, reuse and recycle. While one can shout as much as they want about going green, at the end of the day it is actions that speak a million times more loudly than mere words. In case of Michael Ulman, that could not be truer. Hope we see more such artistic green brilliance from the man.
