bio fuel from palm oil

Malaysia launched its B5 palm oil-based biofuel this Tuesday. It is a mixture of 5 percent of processed palm oil and 95 percent of petroleum diesel. The use of bio-fuel may change people’s perception of the potential of the oil palm and agro-based industry sector in this country.

The biofuel, is named “Envo Diesel”, and the government plans to implement the use of it in stages starting with vehicles of selected governmental agencies and then moving on the public.

The best part of it, for the comsumers is that the use of palm oil-based biofuel does not require modifying vehicle engines! This is shown by the studies conducted by the Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB).
