Let the sun connect your network!

The awesome way in which that world is connected is both wonderful & scary. While all the connectivity can mean nothing but good for most people, I do sometimes have certain problems with it. For starters, my mobile really bugs me at times. There are some people I would much rather not be accessible to at some times. But I have to as switching off the mobile is not an option always & not answering the phone can only have those many excuses. I find it annoying also when I’m chatting with my friends & that guy I hate in college or that boring girl buzzes me. (At this point, I still want to know why Google does not have an “invisible” option in its chat window like Yahoo)

But connectivity has its own advantages which most often far out weigh the cons. Here is, if not the latest, at least the more eco-friendly form of it. Meraki presents out door wireless connectivity that is powered by the Sun. The product is powered by solar panels & is the latest extension of the technology. The only problem though seems to be that a normal wireless repeater would cost around $99, while this one costs a good $500.

So if you want to save power & have a LAN party from the beach or the woods, then here is the device you have been looking for. It goes where plug boards do not go & offers endless connectivity. Again going back to my point of if that is a good thing to have; well, now you can be connected even from a jungle. But I wonder if all this has taken away the feeling of meeting someone close to you after a couple of years of staying away, with just normal mail being your means of communication. Is that magic of old days lost or is it more soothing to know that you can talk to the ones dear to you with the press of a button? Frankly speaking, I prefer the later, as life is too short to stay away in complete isolation from people you love for 2 years. But what do you feel?
