Riyadh, the capital and the largest city of Saudi Arabia has put in a new jewel in its crown with the Kingdom Hospital that aims at delivering first-class service to the people of Riyadh. Designed by leading international architects Aedas, the Kingdom Hospital ostentatiously boasts of its unique design along with its first-class services.
Covering an area of 50,000sqm, this Aedas architecture is all set to change the existing conception of the look and service of hospitals. Besides providing high quality outpatient treatments and ambulatory facilities, the hospital is so designed as to bring in all the clinical pavilions under one roof wherein the consultation suites impress with their natural lighting and glimpse of landscape.
The day theaters, radiology and offices are all linked to the central boulevard which also contains the clinical core. The auditorium, spa and wellness centers all find place at the top of the structure which again is fused with the advantage of an all-impressive visual treat of beautiful Riyadh amid gardens interspersed with pools and a spa-restaurant.
Aedas turned this architecture as a green building by making solar energy the source of power to meet a significant proportion of the energy requirement of the building. The building roof has solar arrays which can adjust themselves according to the direction of the sun and is so efficiently done that they can also provide passive cool shade to the building below.
Aedas has taken up the challenge of changing the whole concept of hospital building and care. The Kingdom Hospital aims at providing the people a high quality hotel like service and environment where the patients and their families will be treated like special honorable guests where they can relax, feel secured and safe unlike the existing conceptualized hospitals.
