Kids grow greener with Eco-disposable nappies

It’s hard to teach adults, the ways and procedures they should adopt to make themselves green, but its not that hard to tame the kids. Manufacturers know this and are continuously developing techniques to instill that green factor in kids, so that when they grow up they know the importance of the environment.

Earlier we saw Green Toys and Wind powered toy cars and here we are once again with eco-disposable nappies. There are two different eco-disposable brands of nappies in the market – Moltex and Nature Care.

Moltex claims to be the only eco-disposable nappy with an unbleached cellulose core. They are also produced from 50% renewable material, are 100% chlorine free and are made with 20% biodegradable absorbent granules in the core. The outer film and the packaging of this nappy is 100% biodegradable.

On the other hand, Nature Care touts to be made from 100% GM-free natural maize film and also comes with a unique channel construction that minimizes the need of super absorbents by a hefty 50%. They also won the Mother&Baby Silver Award for the Best Disposable Nappy for 2006-07.

You can go for any of the above as both are chlorine free and are mainly made from natural materials and the best feature is their biodegradability. Still both the brands contain absorbent gel which is not biodegradable but is necessary to compete with other brands. Eco-Living claims that Moltex is a better choice since Nature Care has received some complaints on the containment front.
