Junk-to-art: Plastic bottles upcycled into gorgeous lamps

Created by artists-designers and sisters Reta and Vana Howell, these funky lamps made from old plastic bottles really do make a great cause for recycling. Made from upcycled plastic bottles, household plastic containers and recycled scrap metal, the art-quality light fixtures are made to appear like glass by hardening plastic via THIS’s secret fusion process. Each fixture is made from roughly 30-55 plastic water bottles and the life expectancy for each finished product is over 700 years barring electricals. Now that’s hot! And what’s even more stunning is that if you send them 72 recycled plastic bottles, the designers give you a $100 rebate on the $325- $425 lamps available in 5 models.
