HOW TO: Save some power by keeping your computer cool

Rooms in which more computers are installed face a common problem – they heat up pretty fast! The number of computers in a room is directly proportional to the amount of heat build up inside that room.

What you can easily do is to install fans and other cooling techniques inside your computer that claim of reducing the ambient temperature inside the cabinet. Yes, this is true – these machines do wonders inside the cabinet but not on the outside. All the heat that is released from the cabinet is pumped out into your room, making it necessary for you to adopt room cooling systems such as air conditioners.

Using AC’s can also cool your room but all this comes at the expense of electricity. Overclock has answered some questions in the form of a not-so-easy DIY. They have stated that the best way to cool your room and your computers is not using water coolers inside the computers cabinet, but actually reducing the frequency and voltage that is being fed into the electronic components inside the system. Low voltage means lesser heat loss and hence better efficiency.
